Precious Gemstones
Gemstones add vibrant color and personality to jewellery. The "Big Three" precious stones are Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.
1. Ruby (Manik)
Known as the "King of Gems," rubies represent passion and prosperity. The most desirable color is "Pigeon Blood" red. Rubies are second only to diamonds in hardness.
2. Sapphire (Neelam)
Sapphires symbolize wisdom and royalty. While most famous for blue, they come in every color except red (which is a ruby!). Blue sapphires are highly prized for engagement rings.
3. Emerald (Panna)
Emeralds are lush green stones representing rebirth and love. Almost all emeralds have inclusions, known as the "jardin" (garden), which makes each stone unique.
Pearl (Moti)
The only gem created by a living creature. Pearls characterize purity and innocence. They are much softer than other gems and require gentle care.
